INSCA Sprints Into 2009

 Spokane, WA (April 9, 2009) - The 2009 Inland Northwest Sprint Car Association (INSCA) season sprints into action this Saturday night at what has become a home track of sorts at Stateline Speedway in Post Falls, Idaho

The 2009 version of these exciting, alcohol burning winged monsters promises to provide the most competitive wheel to wheel action to date with events scheduled at Stateline Speedway, the lightning-quick half-mile of Spokane County Raceway and the uniquely shaped Mission Valley Speedway in Polson, Montana. 2008 Champion Kevin Burck will again be driving the Perkin’s Motorsports, INC sponsored machine and will be joined by occasional teammate Don Kudrna of Othello, WA full-time this season. 

Longtime west coast racer and champion, Dixon Helgeson will be returning to the wheel full-time for the 2009 campaign taking over the reigns of the famed and flamed HEI #23 that has been driven the past several seasons by Dixon’s son Wes. Also competing out of the HEI stables will be Jennifer Bowman, who has sprint car experience running in California and a team car will be fielded by Mike Reese for long-time midget car driver, Tony Seidelman. 

Returning for 2009 will be the 2008 runner up in points, Cole Tupling from Okanogan,WA, Ron Rhode from Lewiston, ID, Justin Popple from Spokane, WA, 2004  Champion Mark Jones, Mike Fought a former race winner with INSCA and 2007 Champion Tony Berry in The Country Place, Sir Speedy Printing, ACRAnet, B&B sprinter. 

New to the INSCA scene this year, but definitely not new to pavement Sprint Car racing is Ray Douglas that competed regularly at Douglas County Speedway in Roseburg, Oregon; Douglas plans on making the trip up to INSCA events in 2009. 

The INSCA group provides a place for many different types of open-wheel cars to race and that will be displayed when Frankie Voltz, Jr. takes to the track in his Hyder Hawk Super Modified car. Voltz, Jr. known for his tenacious driving will bring a new level of excitement with this exotic looking racecar.

 The INSCA group experienced it’s first win of the 2009 season by winning the “Best of Class” award for the racecar division with cars provided by Tony Berry of B&B Motorsports and Justin Popple of Popple Racing at the 46th Annual Spokane Auto Boat Speed Show March 28-30th. 

Come out and cheer on these and the other exciting race teams that comprise the Inland Northwest Sprint Car Association this Saturday night, April 11th at Stateline Speedway with qualifying beginning at 6 pm.
