POST
FALLS, IDAHO – July 29, 2007 – Bonney Lake, Washington Legends
driver Nick Johnson continued his winning ways at Stateline Speedway
Saturday night. Johnson set fast time and scored a heat win in route
to a victory in the 35-lap main event.
Johnson, leading the standings in the Northwest Pro Division, passed
race leader Scott Dalla (Pro Division) and second place runner
Tracey Warren (Master Division) with 10-laps to go on a restart. The
win was Johnson’s second of the season at Stateline Speedway.
20-plus cars started the event. Cautions and a mid race oil down
slowed the pace of the race. Alex Kerslake was the top finishing car
in the Semi Pro Division, Jimmy Gross finished fifth. Scott Moore,
Tim Corbett and Kyle Oman won dashes. Oman also won the B Heat.
Legends return to Stateline Speedway for the final time of the
season August 25.
Randy Lasswell maneuvered around race leaders on a restart to win
the 25-lap feature main for the Street Stock’s mid season
championships. Earlier in the night Lasswell passed dash winner
Chris Crain to win the heat race. Nathan Fleury set fast time and
challenged Lasswell throughout the race.
After being knocked out of the race two weeks ago, Ephrata,
Washington sprint driver Kevin Burck returned to his dominance in
Inland Northwest Winged Sprints. Burck started near the back of the
25-lap main event but quickly moved to the front passing heat and
dash winners Mike Fought and Tony Berry for the second place
position.
Burck then tracked down leader Cole Tupling near half way to take
the lead. Fought finished second, Wes Helgeson third, Tupling and
Rod Nelson rounded out the top five.
