FALLS, IDAHO – August 12, 2007 – Dave Lund took the
outside lane around heat race winner Gary Homad to win the
50-lap Northwest Outlaw Street Stocks Series main event
Saturday night at Stateline Speedway.
Lund, the defending series champion, made the move into the
lead on lap nine before the first of four cautions of the
race. Homad, who took the lead from Aaron Nevers on lap five,
dropped to third after being passed by Lund.
Fast time setter Kevin Carver tracked down Lund in the closing
laps but was unable to make a move on the final restart with
15-laps to go.
Lund finished first, his third straight year of winning a
feature at Stateline. Carver finished second, Homad third.
Mark Gernlein and Amanda MacDonald rounded out the top six.
The race ended under a checkered flag with a red flag also
displayed due to an oil fire in turn two involving Chris
Crain. The fire was quickly extinguished.
Justin Popple tracked down heat winner Tony Berry in the final
laps of the Inland Northwest Winged Sprints main event to make
the pass for the lead in the 20-lap event. Berry had dominated
the race, but slowed in the closing laps to finish second.
Cole Tupling won the dash race.
Justin Robideaux set fast time, won the dash, heat and almost
the main event for the Early Stocks. Shawn Priest edged out
Robideaux on the last lap down the front stretch, allowing
Priest to pick up the win in the 15-lap event. Robideaux
finished second followed by Gil Rapp Jr.
