"INSCA Takes on SRP as the end of the Season Nears" |
Spokane,
WA - As the 2007 Inland Northwest Sprint Car Association (INSCA) season
draws to a close, the championship points chase is heating up. This
Saturday night the fast and furious winged sprint car group will take
their brand of entertainment to the famed high-banked half-mile of
Spokane Raceway Park.
There
is currently only a 16 point separation between INSCA points leader Tony
Berry, and second place Justin Popple of Spokane. With only one race
remaining after this Saturday nights event, each lap will count in
determining who captures the series championship. "Both Justin and
I have suffered some mechanical problems throughout the year and to be
honest, I feel fortunate to be in the position we are. With two races
left hopefully we can both put together good runs that will help us
close out the season strong and with our B&B Motorsports team on top
said points leader Berry.
"In
our first full year of sprint car racing we really couldn't ask for
anything more than to be right in the thick of this points race,"
said Popple. "Tony and I are friends off the track, but we're
fiercely competitive on the track. Both of our teams really want to win
this thing and we plan on closing out the year strong for our sponsors
and the fans."
This
visit will mark stop number two at the fastest active track in the
inland northwest for the INSCA group. The previous visit resulted in a
familiar face in victory lane in the form of many-time pavement sprint
car champion, "Quick" Rick Brown. Brown set fast time in
qualifying with a 16.6 second lap around the half-mile. "It's a
long haul from Roseburg to Spokane, but I really enjoy running with this
group of competitive cars. Each series has their own personality and
this group of racers here with the INSCA know how to put on a good show
for the fans while racing each other hard and with respect,"
commented Brown.
Come
out to support the racers of the INSCA presented by Mission Foods this
Saturday night at Spokane Raceway Park. Qualifying will begin at 6
p.m. with racing at 7 p.m. for more information visit www.insca.us.
